Jenna Marvin is the heroine of the stunning documentary "Queendom" and extends the screening with a 40-minute live performance, sharing moments of intimacy with the audience.
Afterwards there will be a party with short acts by "Quellpunkt", a transdisciplinary performance collective from the local rural area, including the drag performer Balanza LeGendery and the dancer Theo Baeriswyl, with a DJ set by Iban King and Rahel Z. This "drag-no-show" wants to provide an insight behind the scenes of drag performance.
During the daytime – as a preparatory work – a scenographic workshop is offered by Eva Schneuwly and Nina Hsu from the Quellpunkt collective, where everyone can practice self-empowerment around the art of handcraft.
And in between, there will be a book vernissage with the finally published anniversary book – conceived and designed by Meret Landolt – on 25 years of the BONE Performance Festival. ‘Passe Partout’ makes a culinary transition to the evening programme, which starts at 8pm with the supporting film "Wasser bis zum Haus", directly in front of "Queendom".
9 am – 6 pm: Workshop «Raw Playgrounds» (Nina Hsu & Eva Schneuwly)
6.30 pm Book-launch of the annuary book (Meret Landolt)
7 pm : Apero/food with Passe Partout
8.15 pm : «Queendom» (Documentary movie feat. Jenna Marvin)
10 pm : Live-performance by Jenna Marvin
Directly afterwards until 2 am: Party an drag-no-show with the collective Quellpunkt, with Balanza leGendery & Theo Baeriswyl a.o. DJ-set by DJ Rahel Z & DJ Iban King.

Jenna is a queer artist from a small town in Russia, dresses in otherworldly costumes made from junk and tape, and protests the government on streets of Moscow. Born and raised on the harsh streets of Magadan, a frigid outpost of the Soviet gulag, Jenna stages radical performances in public that become a new form of art and activism. By doing that, she wants to change people’s perception of beauty and queerness and bring attention to the harassment of the LGBTQ+ community. The performances - often dark, strange, evocative, and queer at their core - are a manifestation of Jenna’s subconscious.
The 26th edition of the international performance festival stretches over 10 days, creating space for a lot of informality, exchange and the in-between. Each day is curated by different artists and invites the audience to different contexts on the periphery. In a destabilized world the festival is dedicated to letting go and sliding into new fragile states of uncertainty and enduring them.
This event was made possible by financial support from the City of Bern, the Canton of Bern and the Temporatio Foundation.

The world is on fire, es flutet, stürmt und rutscht.

The world is on fire, it is flooding, storming, and eroding. Simultaneously, the upheaval is attacking common constructs of our Western society and creating waves of fear and insecurity.
In the search for a position of performance art in this zeitgeist, this year's international performance festival BONE aims to let go and slide down the slopes of normative thinking and acting, deconstructing melting permafrosty premises such as city/country, man/woman, native/foreign or Global South/North and offering unfinished and process-like performative approaches.
The form and style of the festival also lets go and slips into unknown outlets. The usually 3-day festival stretches over 10 days, allowing different positions and artistic acts, encounters and experiments spread across venues that are somehow peripheral.
BONE starts at the Prozess on 29 November with the drag artist Jenna Marvin - star of the documentary ‘Queendom’ - and the local-rural collective Quellpunkt with the drag artist Balanza LeGendery.
This opening evening is also the launch of the anniversary publication as part of the workbook contribution of the Canton of Bern.
